PE “Vojvodinašume” manages 17 special-purpose forest hunting grounds in the territory of AP Vojvodina. Of these 17 hunting grounds, 16 are lowland, and one is a hilly–mountain hunting ground (Vršac Mountains). The total area of the hunting grounds is 109,824 ha, of which 27,298 ha are enclosed hunting grounds and enclosed parts of hunting grounds, while 82,526 ha are hunting grounds in free nature (so-called open hunting grounds).
In the mentioned hunting grounds, management is primarily focused on big game, among which, by their biological and economic importance, two main indigenous species stand out — Red Deer and Wild Boar — followed by Roe Deer, and two allochthonous species of lesser economic importance, Fallow Deer and Mouflon.
Hunting Ground ‘Kozara’, Bački Monoštor
The hunting ground “Kozara,” Bački Monoštor, covers an area of 11,507.43 ha. It is a typical lowland marsh hunting ground with a large marsh complex along the Danube River and represents an ideal habitat for marsh Red Deer and Wild Boar. The entire hunting ground is enclosed, with the main game species being marsh Red Deer and Wild Boar, and Roe Deer as a secondary game species. In this hunting ground, a trophy Red Deer was harvested with a score of 248.55 CIC points, which held the world record for almost 20 years. Today, it still remains the current national record. This is our largest and most renowned hunting ground for high-trophy Red Deer. Hunting is organized by stalking hunt (“pirsch”) and from high stands. The daily capacity of the hunting ground is eight hunters.
Hunting Ground “Apatinski Rit” Apatin
The hunting ground “Apatinski Rit,” Apatin, covers an area of 6,335.76 ha. It belongs to the category of lowland hunting grounds. Situated in a typical marsh environment along the Danube River, it is fully enclosed. This is the second most important and second largest hunting ground for high-trophy Red Deer. The main bred big game species are Red Deer and Wild Boar. The marsh part of the hunting ground is ideal for hunting waterfowl.
Hunting Ground “Subotičke šume,” Subotica
Hunting Ground “Subotičke šume,” Subotica, covers an area of 6,137.03 ha, of which 543 ha are enclosed, while the remaining part is an open hunting ground. The main bred species in the enclosed part of the hunting ground is Mouflon, with Fallow Deer and Wild Boar as secondary game species. In the open part of the hunting ground, management is focused on a relatively large and stable population of Roe Deer. In addition to big game, Pheasant is successfully produced, bred, and hunted. Since 2007, a driven hunting area for Pheasant has been established within the hunting ground. Wild Duck and Common Quail are also successfully hunted here, the latter during the summer hunting season.
Hunting Ground “Kamarište,” Odžaci
Hunting Ground “Kamarište,” Odžaci, covers an area of 1,103.65 ha. It consists of open and enclosed parts, and since 2012 it has also included a Danube section intended for hunting waterfowl species. The open part of the hunting ground covers 250 ha, where hunting for Roe Deer and Wild Boar is organized from seven high stands. The enclosed part of the hunting ground covers a total of 504 ha, including a driven hunting section for Wild Boar of 369 ha, and a mating and farrowing section with a total area of 135 ha. The Danube section for waterfowl hunting has a land area of 348 ha, with a total of 5 km of Danube riverbank.
Hunting Ground “Plavna,” Bač
Hunting Ground “Plavna,” Bač, covers a total area of 3,626.29 ha. It is a typical Danube hunting ground, of which 630 ha are enclosed. It is predominantly a forest hunting ground, while the remaining 1,989 ha represent an open forest–field hunting ground. Within the enclosed part, 430 ha are designated as hunting and breeding areas primarily for Red Deer, while 220 ha serve as a driven hunting area for Wild Boar. In addition to driven hunts for Wild Boar, individual hunts for Red Deer, Wild Boar, and Roe Deer are also successfully organized.
Hunting Ground “Ristovača,” Bač
Hunting Ground “Ristovača,” Bač, is a forest–field hunting ground with a total area of 1,718.34 ha, of which 250 ha are enclosed. It serves as a driven hunting area for Wild Boar, as well as a breeding ground for Wild Boar as the main species and Fallow Deer as a secondary game species. In the open part of the hunting ground, Roe Deer is successfully hunted. The open section also contains a designated driven hunting area for Pheasant. Two types of Pheasant hunts are organized: driven hunts and standard hunts.
Hunting Ground “Koviljski Marsh,” Kovilj
Hunting Ground “Koviljski Marsh,” Kovilj, covers a total area of 4,336.89 ha. It is located in the floodplain of the Danube River, which makes the management of big game more difficult. The entire hunting ground is of the open type, with Wild Boar as the main game species. Roe Deer is also present, and the conditions for hunting waterfowl are favorable.
Hunting Ground “Kaćka šuma,” Kać
Hunting Ground “Kaćka šuma,” Kać, is the youngest hunting ground, included in the enterprise’s hunting ground system since 2010. Its total area is 467.55 ha, and it was designed exclusively as a driven hunting area for Pheasants, due to its extremely favorable geographic position in relation to Novi Sad and the Belgrade–Subotica highway. The hunting ground is predominantly forested, intended for Pheasant hunting in the main driven hunting section of 92 ha and a smaller secondary driven hunting section of 34 ha.
Hunting Ground “Karakuša,” Ruma
Hunting Ground “Karakuša,” Ruma, is a well-known Posavina hunting ground with a total area of 8,125.22 ha, of which 2,257 ha are enclosed. The main bred game species are Red Deer and Wild Boar, while Roe Deer is an accompanying, i.e. secondary, game species. Thanks to its exceptional geographic location, the hunting ground is fully booked during the hunting season by both domestic and foreign hunters. It is renowned for high-trophy Red Deer, and especially for the well-organized driven hunts for Wild Boar.
Hunting Ground “Kućine,” Šid
Hunting Ground “Kućine,” Šid, has a total area of 1,986.48 ha, of which 1,403 ha are enclosed. The main bred game species is Wild Boar, while Red Deer is a secondary game species. The hunting ground is well known for exceptional driven hunts for Wild Boar, conducted in two separate driven hunting sections.
Hunting Ground “Kupinik,” Pećinci
Hunting Ground “Kupinik,” Pećinci, has a total area of 8,740.95 ha. The main bred game species is Wild Boar, with occasional presence of Red Deer. The hunting ground is completely open and has no enclosed parts. It is a large forest hunting ground with a lower concentration, i.e. density, of big game. Roe Deer is successfully hunted here. Hunting is organized from high stands, by stalking hunt, and by driven hunt.
Hunting Ground “Bosutske šume,” Šid
Hunting Ground “Bosutske šume,” Šid, covers an area of 14,912.18 ha. The main bred game species are Wild Boar and Red Deer, while Roe Deer is sporadically present. The hunting ground has two enclosed areas, totaling 1,124.62 ha, of which 253 ha are a driven hunting section for Wild Boar, and 871 ha are an enclosed area with intensive breeding of Red Deer and Wild Boar as the main bred game species, and Roe Deer as a secondary game species. In the open part of the hunting ground, an optimal number of bred game species are present. Wild Boar are successfully hunted by driven hunts, while Red Deer hunting is most successful during the rutting season.
Hunting Ground “Vranjak,” Šid
Hunting Ground “Vranjak,” Šid, is an enclosed hunting ground with a total area of 544.09 ha, of which 498.32 ha are fenced. The main bred game species is Wild Boar, while Roe Deer is a secondary game species. Hunting for Wild Boar is organized by driven hunts, stalking hunt, and from high stands.
Hunting Ground “Donje Podunavlje,” Pančevo
Hunting Ground “Donje Podunavlje,” Pančevo, is an open-type hunting ground with a total area of 3,526.59 ha. Of the big game species, Roe Deer and Wild Boar are present, hunted individually from stands. The most numerous game species are Wild Ducks and Geese, which are successfully hunted on the Danube and the Tamiš rivers.
Hunting Ground “Deliblato Sands,” Pančevo
Hunting Ground “ Deliblato Sands,” Pančevo, covers a total area of 31,036.55 ha, of which 2,410 ha are enclosed. In the open part of the hunting ground, Red Deer are successfully hunted — especially high-quality stags during the rutting season — as well as Wild Boar in individual hunts. Roe Deer is considered a secondary bred game species. In the enclosed part of the hunting ground “Dragićev hat,” covering 1,850 ha, both Red Deer and Wild Boar are hunted. The hunting ground also contains two arranged driven hunting sections for Wild Boar: Flamunda (280 ha) and Dubovac (270 ha). Within the “Deliblatska peščara” hunting ground is also one of the best hunting grounds for waterfowl — “Labudovo okno.”
Hunting Ground “Vršačke planine,” Vršac
Hunting Ground “Vršačke planine,” Vršac, covers a total area of 4,118.38 ha. It stretches across the Vršačke Planine massif and is the only hilly-type hunting ground, with an altitude ranging from 94 to 639 m above sea level. The main game species are Roe Deer and Wild Boar. Roe Deer are hunted from high stands and by stalking hunt, while Wild Boar are hunted by driven hunts.
Hunting Ground “Smederevska Ada,” Kovin
Hunting Ground “Smederevska Ada,” Kovin, covers a total area of 1,600.76 ha and is a typical Danube hunting ground established on a river island (ada). It is primarily a waterfowl hunting ground, with hunting taking place successfully from September to February. In addition to waterfowl, Wild Boar are also present, but their numbers are rather unstable and depend on the water level of the Danube and the flooding regime of the island.
