With the establishment of PE “Vojvodinašume”, the process of defining and drafting the concept of development and improvement of work and business operations in the Company began. Rationality in organisation, work, and business operations determined the establishment of intensive cooperation with scientific and educational institutions, with the aim of supporting development planning, including the resolution of complex professional and scientific problems requiring specialised expertise. The establishment of long-term cooperation with educational and scientific-research institutions presupposed the provision of appropriate earmarked financial resources, which were provided through the Company’s Development Fund, by allocating 1% of revenues generated from the sale of timber assortments on the domestic market (Decision of the Board of Management No. 30/VI-8 of 29 January 2003).
Forest management in the Company is carried out on the basis of the latest results of scientific research, including research conducted on its own facilities, with the application of modern professional practices and knowledge.
Through the resources of the internal Development Fund, the implementation of several long-term development-research projects was financed, in cooperation with the Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment from Novi Sad and the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade.
